perhaps a bit late but this is my first blog of all time. thanks to some lovely advice from the good Doc. Ram i’ve decided it’s high time I get one of these going. so first of all thanks to anyone who actually decides to read the ridiculous things i’ll have to say from time to time, means a lot :)
lets start with warped tour. we’ve been on it for about a week now and I must say it kicks massive amounts of ass. we’re in a bus for the first time in the states and it is all the difference in the world! touring can be grueling and we’ve been at it for 4 years now. We’ll never forget the days of say.. Projekt Rev. where the AC in our van only worked if it was moving. we were the only band on that tour in a van and all the crew dudes would laugh at us because as soon as we got to the venues around 5am we’d take turns driving around the amphitheater lot in circles so the other dudes could sleep lol. anyhow back to warped.. one of the things i believe in most in life is “to each his own” and I try never to judge anything especially when it comes to music. as i always say, music is subjective. it hits everybody differently so people should never be judged according to what kind of music they listen to.. that’s just ridiculous in every way. sometimes however, a band is more of a “lifestyle” than artists. and it’s very important not to confuse the 2. I love bands because I love music. I don’t love bands because of the scene or lifestyle they are a part of. that’s just me. like I said ..to each his own.
so yesterday I went to see a band called Millionaires. sheer curiosity. what i saw was shocking and awesome to say the least. remember i’m not judging anyone here, just telling a story lol. about 5 songs into their set the CD skipped. Think Ashley Simpson times 10. 3 girls fumbling around absolutely clueless as to what was happening. they seriously didn’t even know why the song they were “performing” suddenly skipped to the song they “played” before it. then it skipped again and again and they just huffed and puffed around the stage. of course none of their mics were even ON but i was at the side of the stage and one of them turned to the other and goes “ewww this is sooo anoyyying” like one of the bitchy girls on MTVs Sweet 16. hah it was amazing.
so the tour is incredible and entertaining in every way and I feel super lucky just to be on it. hope yo see you all soon.. more to come!
